TRUE LEMON®
SUPER FAN
MAXINE DANIELS
We are pleased to
introduce you to Maxine Daniels of Stafford, VA!
Maxine
first encountered True Lemon® at Curves®, where she is the manager.
(Curves® is an affordable fitness and weight loss facility dedicated to
providing exercise and nutritional information for women. With 8,000
locations, it is the largest fitness franchise in the world.)
Maxine
uses True Lemon® several times a day, mostly in water, either hot or
cold. "I have used it on salad and in other beverages as well. My
husband has actually used True Lemon® in fried apples, in place of
plain lemon juice, and they turned out great. He also always puts 3 packets
of True Lemon® in a bottle of sparkling water. My husband also says to
let you know that he loves sour candies, but he has not had the nerve yet to
try True Lemon® straight!"
Maxine
tells almost everyone she meets about True Lemon®. "I've told many
Curves® members and employees, as well as Curves® diet class members about
how great True Lemon® is for any diet. I've also told my family members
in other states, my Tupperware clients, members of my Church, people in
grocery stores, as well as anyone I hear that is on a diet!"
"Right
now I'm on the Curves® diet, which is similar to the South Beach Diet®.
Drinking plenty of water is a must, so I just take a packet of True
Lemon® with me. It helps me to continue to drink water throughout the
day, without water's plain taste getting boring."
Maxine,
56, is happily married and has one daughter. One of her greatest joys is
working at Curves®. "I love working at Curves®. Even though it's my job,
and I get paid to work there, it really is my number one passion and
hobby."

1 teaspoon kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper
dash of cayenne pepper
three to four threads of saffron
1/4 cup of freshly chopped parsley

HOW DO YOU USE
TRUE LEMON®?
Have you ever thought of True Lemon® on
popcorn? According to Dawn Hyvonen of White Lake, MI, it's delicious! "I
love popcorn but I always had to have it loaded with salt. I tried True
Lemon® on it and it was great! I don't think I will ever eat popcorn with
salt again."
Everyone in the Freedman family of Milltown,
NJ, uses True Lemon® according to Norma Freedman. Diana, age 7, loves
to put True Lemon® on her chicken and turkey. Jake, 10, and Norma have
a new favorite drink: they add True Lemon® and their favorite sweetener
to hot water and drink it every day.

MARCH IS NATIONAL
NUTRITION MONTH®!
According to the American Dietetic Association
(ADA), National Nutrition Month® is "a nutrition education and
information campaign sponsored annually by the American Dietetic Association.
The campaign is designed to focus attention on the importance of making
informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity
habits. National Nutrition Month also helps promotes ADA and its members to
the public and the media as a valuable and credible source of up-to-date,
scientifically-based food and nutrition information"
National Nutrition Month® started in March
1973 as a week-long event called, "National Nutrition Week." In

MARCH'S MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: I'm lactose intolerant and see that True Lemon®
contains lactose. Can I still use True Lemon®?
A: Lactose,
which is a natural product, is used to help True Lemon® dissolve more
easily. The lactose in True Lemon® is considered an insufficient
amount of carbohydrates and generally too low of an amount to induce
intolerance. While we always recommend that you speak to your doctor or
healthcare provider, True Lemon® contains less than 1/3 gram of
lactose per packet, so people with lactose intolerance should feel
comfortable using True Lemon®. (To put that in perspective, a packet
of True Lemon® contains less lactose than an aspirin.)
Q: Is True Lemon® kosher?
A: Yes, True Lemon® is certified by the Orthodox
Union, the world's largest kosher certification agency.

HEALTH TIP: HOW
MUCH VITAMIN C DO YOU NEED?
One
of the most widely taken supplements in the United States, Vitamin C, also
referred to as ascorbic acid, is a very important antioxidant proven to
boost the immune system, build collagen, reduce arterial aging and prevent
plaque build-up. Your body's ligaments, tendons and collagen need Vitamin C
to stay strong and healthy. Vitamin C, as with all antioxidants, also helps
to counter the effects of free radicals (cell-damaging molecules) and even
helps the body recycle other antioxidants.
The
Food and Nutrition Board, the committee that sets the Recommended Daily
Allowances (RDA), suggests 60 to 75 milligrams per day of Vitamin C with an
upper limit set in the year 2000 at two thousand milligrams per day. For
lactating women, the RDA, for Vitamin C is higher. In the first six months,
it is 95 milligrams per day; and in the second six months, it is 90
milligrams per day.
Recently,
though, experts have strongly recommended increasing the RDA to between 100
to 200 milligrams per day, and even others have recommended getting more of
Vitamin C - up to 500 to 1000 milligrams per day – to maximize its
health benefits.
By
eating a varied and balanced diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables
(and by adding True Lemon®* to your beverages or food), you should
certainly get all the Vitamin C you need to help keep your body healthy and
happy.
*Each packet of True Lemon® provides 25% of the current RDA for
Vitamin C!
