Aleck Schleider, our Executive Vice President and COO, joined Grand Brands a little over a year ago, giving up a five-year career at advertsing.com, one of the leading online advertising companies. Aleck had been watching and advising his brother David (the creator of True Lemon® and True Lime™) since he first began his quest to put fresh lemon taste in a packet.

“David has always been passionate about his ideas and he was incredibly dedicated to making True Lemon® a reality. For three years he gave up almost everything to devote himself to this idea and, sometimes as his brother, I was concerned that he was giving up too much to this project. But once he perfected the True Lemon® formula, I thought it was excellent and would have a great deal of appeal to consumers.”

While Aleck was with advertising.com, he worked with David behind the scenes, advising him. “I have always had David’s and True Lemon®’s best interest at heart so David and I worked closely together even when I wasn’t working fulltime at Grand Brands. I think it was very helpful to David to have someone he could trust seeing things develop from an outside perspective.”

Finally, though, after several years of David’s prodding, Aleck took the plunge and joined the Grand Brands team fulltime.

“Our father has his own foodservice company so David and I have the entrepreneurial bug in our blood. David and I worked together as we were growing up with my father, and although we are very different in some ways, those differences allow us to balance each other out and be really complement each other. Joining Grand Brands was a big change but it’s great to take part in what has resulted from David’s hard work and passion. We have a great team here and we are all committed to creating successful brands that will be around for a long time and will be recognized as really good products by our consumers.”

Aleck is a big fan of True Lemon® and uses five or six packets a day in his water. His wife, Randi, also cooks with True Lemon® all the time. “I love True Lemon® but now I’m starting to use True Lime™ regularly. I am so excited about True Lime™ because I think our customers will love True Lime™ just as much as True Lemon®!”
