No, we’re not talking about daiquiris instead of dinner. We’re talking about the True Lemon pre-fill.
The True Lemon pre-fill is taking in one or two glasses of water (made delicious with your favorite True Citrus flavor) before every meal or snack. It’s the power play for eating whatever you want. But you eat less of it, and losing weight without even noticing.
Why does it work when you make the water glass the first thing you grab at the table? Plenty of reasons!
1. Drinking water before meals has been proven to make you eat an average of 90 calories less per meal -- worth about one slice of bread or two teaspoons of peanut butter. Multiply that by 3 or 4 meals a day, and you’ve cut down a lot of food intake!
2. One study showed that pre-fill water drinkers lost about five pounds more on average than non-water drinkers. They also lost weight faster over a 12-week period. And, after 12 weeks, those who drank water before meals had lost 15.5 pounds, compared to 11 pounds for the non-water drinkers.
3. Often, when you get hunger pangs, it’s really thirst. So drink water and you are instantly less hungry. Just one glass of water shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100 percent of dieters in one study.
4. Lemon is a natural solution for weight loss. The Journal of Biochemical Nutrition published a study that concluded: “lemon polyphenols suppressed body weight gain and body fat accumulation.” Meaning that a diet supplemented with lemon may prevent obesity and insulin resistance.
So before you pick up the fork or spoon, pick up the water glass and while you’re at it, sprinkle in the True Lemon (or True Lime, or True Orange …). It’s the natural way to enjoy the meal just the same -- just less of it.
