Are you ready for school to start? If your child is about to be mustered up, here’s a few tips to get you both back in the education groove.
Wall Calendar – get out the markers and update with important school events.
Clean Up – get rid of old clothes and summer toys in bedrooms. Clear a desk or table for homework.
Practice Getting Up Early – might as well get used to it! If your child adjusts now to earlier bedtimes and wake up calls the first days of school might be easier on everyone!
Double-check School Supply Lists – one last review to be sure!
Lunchboxes – if you are in charge of filling these day after day, here are a few fun ideas.
Sandwiches - use different kinds of bread: ciabatta rolls, focaccio, wraps, baguettes, sun-dried tomato bread, olive bread. (If the bread is extra nice you can just send a piece of cheese or a boiled egg to have on the side instead of making a sandwich).
Fillings: goat cheese and lettuce, bacon and avocado, egg salad and arugula, pesto and porcini mushroom, wraps with chicken, bacon and salad, ham and lettuce, ham and cheese, sausages.
Pack salad or chopped vegetables and chopped fruit.
Encourage your child to drink more water and less sugary soda, sports drinks and juice, by sending a water bottle and some packets of nutritionist-approved, all-natural True Citrus along with a lunchbox or backpack. Plain water is the best drink for hydration that can help with mental alertness, and kids can even pick their favorite flavor: lemon, lime, orange or grapefruit. True Citrus turns water into a tasty treat that kids love and you can feel good about!
