Al comes to True Citrus with extensive leadership, management, operations and marketing experience for CPG companies. Al has held senior management positions and helped significantly grow companies such as American Home Foods 2 (CEO), B&G foods (EVP), Nice Pak Products (President), and International Home Foods/American Home Foods (SVP/GM).
Al has worked on established food brands such as Pepsi, Duracell, Ortega, Polaner, Chef Boyardee, Emeril's and Cream of Wheat as well as start-up brands like Bam Meals.
Al's experience also includes spearheading acquisitions, positioning companies for fast growth as well as taking companies public. The entire True Citrus team is excited to have Al on board and looks forward to working with him to take the True family of products to the next level of growth and success.
The True Citrus team also extends their heart-felt thanks to the departing CEO, Matthew Wiant, who has been with True Citrus for over three years. Matt arrived at a critical time and helped secure the foundation of the company by significantly upgrading the True product line, improving operations, putting in needed infrastructure, and securing investment for expansion. Matt's leadership and devotion over the past three years helped expand the True Citrus company and prepare us for our next wave of growth.
Having commuted 250 miles weekly from his home in Connecticut to Baltimore, Matt will be pursuing a new opportunity closer to home, allowing him to spend more nights with his wife and three children. Matt will also be helping to transition over the next few months and will continue as an advisor to the company.
