Happy New Year!
We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season. Welcome to
January's edition of "The Main Squeeze!" This month, we have decided
to focus on keeping those healthy resolutions that many of you have
recently made. And what better way to do that, than with our True
Lemon® Healthy New Year Challenge! You can read all about it in this
month's newsletter along with some featured beverage recipes,
recipes from the recipe club, and more!
Keep Your Healthy Resolutions! Join our free Healthy New Year Challenge!
The New Year always sparks a lot of resolutions to go to the gym,
eat healthier, lose weight, drink more water, etc. It's very easy to
make these resolutions, but unfortunately not always so easy to
keep. While it's great to make so many healthy commitments, it can
be overwhelming to start all of these things at once. For many, the
promise of these new resolutions fade as the year moves on.
That is why we came up with our True Lemon®'s Healthy New Year
Challenge! The Challenge is not a diet and is not about depriving
yourself of anything. Its focus is entirely on adding three healthy
habits to your life – drinking more water, eating more fruits and
vegetables and moving your body more – and tracking them until they
become a habit.
Leah from Loveland, CO, has already joined the Healthy New Year
Challenge. "I made a New Year's resolution to drink more water, as
well as add additional fruit and veggies to my diet and eat
breakfast. The True Lemon® Healthy New Year Challenge seemed
reasonable, as it helps outline 'baby steps' to do this. I think the
Challenge will help me see my goals one month at a time, instead of
getting overwhelmed with thinking about keeping it up for the whole
year. Once I get these baby steps down, I can add more!"
The True Lemon® Healthy Challenge is supported by three great
nutritionists. Our lead Registered Dietitian for the Challenge is
Jill Fleming, a leading nutritionist, consultant, motivational
speaker, and author of Thin People Don't Clean Their Plates:
Simple Lifestyle Changes for Permanent Weight Loss. Notes Jill,
"As a nutritionist, my mission is always to get people to stop
dieting; start listening to their bodies and take better care of
their health. When people shift their focus from just
weight loss to better health, the end-result is the same, but it
seems to be easier to make the lifestyle changes permanent. The True
Lemon Weight Loss Challenge's goal is to help people easily add
three healthy lifestyle choices to their life during our challenge.
Most people will find that they will lose weight by simply adding
more water, fruit and vegetables and some movement daily."
Our other two nutritionists are Zonya Foco, RD, an expert on
nutrition and wellness, author and professional speaker, and host of
her own TV series, Zonya's Health Bites, and Marlo Mittler,
RD, a dietitian who specializes in pediatric, adolescent and family
nutrition.
The Challenge offers:
- Advice and help tips from our wonderful nutritionists
- A monthly Healthy Living Diary
- Frequently Asked Questions
- Tips for Success
- An online blog (like an online journal) to share your
thoughts, successes, frustrations and ideas as we work together to
become healthier

January's Featured
Beverages
Start Your Day Off With Lemon Water!
Lemon Water 1 packet True Lemon® 1 cup
warm water
We have been hearing from more and more people that they are
starting their day off with a glass of lemon water. Studies have
shown that there are many health benefits to drinking a glass of
lemon water a day. Besides the added benefit of starting your day
off with water (instead of coffee, soda, or sugary juices), you are
starting your day off with Vitamin C (each True Lemon® packet
contains 25% of an adult's daily recommended allowance of Vitamin
C). It is especially important to get enough Vitamin C during the
winter months because it is an important antioxidant known to help
boost the immune system, as well as, reduce arterial aging and
prevent plaque build-up, build collagen in the skin and is part of a
healthy metabolism.
Friendship Tea
Great for teachers, carpoolers, and neighbor gifts! To
package, you can spoon into decorative jars, write serving
directions on a recipe card and tie on with a cord or ribbon.

True Lemon® Super Fans The Johnson Family
We would like you to meet Libba Johnson and her family, Richard
and their son, Noah, from Upper Marlboro, MD.
Libba and her family use True Lemon® everyday, mostly with water
and tea. True Lemon® helps Libba, Richard and Noah drink more water.
“Like our son, my husband and I have been trying to increase our
water intake and True Lemon® has helped us significantly in that
matter. I would say before we had True Lemon®, we used to buy a 12
pack of water and it would last seven to ten days. Now, we go
through 24 bottles of water in that same period of time.”

Health Tip Five Healthy New
Food Trends
We found an interesting article in this month’s Cooking
Light magazine about new food trends which are gaining in
popularity. These trends are:
Flexitarianism – primarily a plant based diet
which includes grains, vegetables and fruits, with occasional lean
meat, fish, poultry or dairy for the benefit of protein.
Locally Grown Foods – taste
better, are fresher, and have a nutritional advantage over produce
sold in stores. The article by Cooking Light noted, “USDA
researchers have found if produce isn’t handled properly, it can
lose up to half its nutrients in transit.”
Functional Foods – can help
maintain a balanced diet. Functional foods are foods enriched wit h
nutrients that they would not normally contain (such as orange juice
with calcium).
Organic Foods – minimizes the
exposure of chemicals to crops that would normally be treated with
pesticides. According to Cooking Light, organic foods may
provide a nutrition boost, containing 27% more Vitamin C, 21% more
iron, and 29% more magnesium.
Slow Food – “a trend of small
plates, tapas, and mini meals, large on flavor and nutrition.” Slow
food is a relaxed approach to eating; enjoying traditionally
prepared, locally grown food with friends and family instead of
running around and eating fast-paced meals.

Customer Quotes of the Month
“I am not usually one to brag about a product, or even e-mail the
manufacturer. I purchased your product in Rhode Island. (I am
from Pennsylvania.) I have always used real lemons to flavor
my tea. Your product looked like something I would like to
try, hating when I went to a church or school affair, or even a
neighbors for tea and they didn't have lemon. And how many of
us can carry a lemon in our purse at all times? Anyway, I was
on business and saw and purchased your product - I LOVE IT. I
have stopped using lemons and your product is in my purse, in my
desk drawer at work and at home. I tell everyone about
it. Just wanted to let you know how something so small to
someone, really means a lot to someone else!”
- Linda, Morrisville, PA
“I discovered True Lemon® and absolutely love it. I
embarked on a weight loss goal about a year and a half ago. I
have desperately tried to cut out bad foods and sweets, as well as
my addiction to caffeinated soft drinks. Upon trying to lose
weight, I tried at least 30 different diet sodas. It’s way too
hard to give the drinks up entirely for me. The only thing
that really seemed to keep my attention for long was Diet Coke with
lemon. I became an instant fan. Well, of course, they
stopped making this product shortly thereafter. Now I was
forced to cut up lemons everyday just to supply my appetite. I
would go through at least 3-4 lemons a day. Especially since
some of them just don't have the taste I prefer. This enabled
me to drop about 30 pounds (in addition to a walking program).
Then I discovered True Lemon® and I will never go back to cutting
lemons again. The taste is always consistent and just the
right amount of tartness for my drinks. I find that I also
don't enjoy sweets as much (thank goodness) as they now taste
overpowering to my taste buds. I carry a supply with me almost
at all times and have frequently whipped it out in restaurants to
add to my drinks (much to the strange looks of my family). I
am working on cutting out the caffeine and will eventually work my
way up to drinking just water, but I will never give up my True
Lemon®. This has been an absolute Godsend since it can be
added so easily and tastes so good! As a side note, I believe the
addition of this extra source of Vitamin C has been an excellent way
to maintain my health – I haven’t had a cold in a very long
time.”

January's Most Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When I looked for True Lemon® 6 months
ago, my local store did not carry it. Would it be there now?
A: It probably will be.
You can check the status of True Lemon® in your area
by clicking here and typing in your zip code to
find a store near you. True Lemon® is now in over 10,000
grocery stores across the country, so you should be able to
buy it locally.
While it is up to grocery stores to place True Lemon, in
most cases True Lemon® can be found
in the ingredients aisle near the sweeteners. The two
other frequent locations for True Lemon are near the bottled
lemon juice or powdered drink mixes, and sometimes stores put
True Lemon in the specialty tea section or in the water aisle.
If for any reason you are having trouble locating True Lemon®
please ask the grocery manager or grocery clerk to help you
find it. Also, please feel free to call us at
1-866-885-3666 and we will be more than happy to call your
store and help you locate it.
Q: What happens if I mention True Lemon®
at a support group, health class or on an online chat room or
message board?
A: Word of mouth is very important to us
and, as a small token of our appreciation, we will send you a
complimentary 10-pack of True Lemon. If you mention True
Lemon® at your next weight loss meeting or support group,
please email customercare@truelemon.com
and include the date, time and name of the organization. If

us a copy of the mention. (Please allow one 10-pack per
meeting, site or board.) |

How Do You Use True
Lemon®?
“I love lemon in my tea, but get tired or too rushed using
fresh lemons, and they are so expensive. Also, nearly all of
the lemon juices I have tried have preservatives in them that
I cannot use; particularly sulfites. Your product has solved
all my problems. I use it in my tea all day long and have also
used it in recipes.” Emily Estes
“I sprinkle True Lemon® over my salad rather than using
salad dressing anymore. The taste is incredible! I
sometimes put imitation crabmeat on my lettuce and tomato
salad and the true lemon gives it a real bang. There is
no salad dressing that tastes better. I keep a few packages in
my purse for when I am eating out.” Jo
Humber
“I use True Lemon® and True Lime™ to compliment my tea. And
also as my main seasonings. They enhance my meats to the point
that I don't need seasoning salt anymore. This is a new kind
of seasoning that helps people like me that suffers from high
blood pressure.” Donna Howard
“I use 2 packets in my spring water everyday for the gym. I
can't drink the water without it!” Jeannie
DeAngelis
“I use a tablespoon of True Lemon® and 2 tablespoons of
orange juice in a bag with my chicken breasts and shake.
After baking they taste delicious!” Kathleen
Millan
“I love to sprinkle a packet of True Lemon® into my
soup. Sometimes I buy soup for lunch and it may not be
seasoned well so instead of adding salt I add true lemon and
jazz it up. I cannot wait to try True Lime™!”
Martha M. Diaz
“I'm old enough to remember signs in buses that advised;
‘the juice of one lemon, in a glass of water, first thing on
arising.’ As I grew older, I became prone to occasional
constipation. The bus signs I saw as a child came to
mind and I tried lemon juice, which worked wonders! Only
problem: I travel extensively and carrying lemon juice
involved weight (I only take one carryon
suitcase) and the potential for a messy spill. I
took your product with me on a recent trip to India,
and was delighted. I gave packets to a couple of other
tour members (not everyone is plagued with Delhi belly - some
of us have the reverse problem!) and they share my
enthusiasm. Why take medications for a minor problem,
when you can heighten your enjoyment of the bottled water you
need to drink, anyway? It should go without saying that True
Lemon® will be in my suitcase every trip from now on.”
