June Super Fans: Kenny and Anita Baum

Our June Super Fans are truly a pair. Recently celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary, Kenny and Anita Baum, of Pikesville, MD, are both totally taken in by the taste and versatility of True Lemon.

“I very rarely buy real lemons at the grocery store these days,” says Anita. “Since discovering True Lemon’s fresh taste and adaptability in recipes, I make sure that we always have it stocked in our home.”

Anita loves to cook with True Lemon in a variety of ways using it as a seasoning for vegetables, flavoring melted butter or margarine for sauces, sprinkling it over fish and chicken, and adding it to soups and stews for an extra zest.

Adapting recipes that call for real lemon are very easy for Anita. She simply reconstitutes True Lemon with water and substitutes it for the amount of lemon juice that is called for in the recipe.

“Because my family enjoys the flavor that lemon adds to food, I have a variety of recipes that I’ve modified to use True Lemon,” says Anita. “And, the best part about it is that it never goes bad. I don’t have to run out and buy a fresh lemon every time a recipe calls for it. It just stays fresh on my shelf and is available when I need it.”

Some of Anita’s favorite recipes in which she incorporates True Lemon include a baked Garlic Lemon Chicken, a tangy Cold Cucumber Soup, a tasty Lemon Crusted Fruit Tart, and a scrumptious Lemon Cake.

Kenny, a retired kosher caterer, now enjoys working part-time at a local delicatessen and leaves the cooking to Anita. In and out of work, he always touts the benefits and bona fide taste of True Lemon relating to customers and friends how easy it is to use. And he should know, he eats Anita’s gourmet fare.

Anita always carries packets of True Lemon in her purse. So, there isn’t a restaurant in town where she and Kenny go to without it.

“I pride myself as a lemonade connoisseur,” states Kenny. “I always enjoy a fresh cold glass of lemonade with my meals. And, since most restaurants serve lemon-flavored drinks in the guise of lemonade, Anita always has packets of True Lemon on hand for me to mix up my own beverage with a tall glass of ice water.”

As True Lemon advocates, when Kenny and Anita dine in a restaurant they endorse True Lemon to their servers and even suggest that management make it readily available to its customers along with the sugar and sweetener packets on the table. And, our True Lemon couple has also been known to inform supermarket managers when the product is out of stock on the shelves.

And while Kenny and Anita Baum are also uncle and aunt to brothers David (creator of True Lemon® and True Lime™, president of Grand Brands) and Aleck Schleider (Executive Vice President and COO) they promise they are not biased at all!
