Jack was first introduced to True Lemon® through a flyer from his local store. I love lemon, and so I buy fresh lemons constantly. I saw True Lemon® and said let me give it a shot. This [True Lemon®] was incredible! I was flabbergasted to get such fresh lemon flavor in a crystallized form. Since it was only on a trial basis at this store, I looked on the website ( www.truelemon.com ), and ordered a box of 500 packets!
Jack certainly isn't stingy with his huge box of True Lemon®. "I've given it to many of my friends and acquaintances and they all ask, "Where can I buy it, where can I buy it?" They call me up and want more samples. I feel like the pied piper of True Lemon.ha-ha."
"I carry True Lemon® in my wallet and use it constantly. If I go to a restaurant, I use it in my water, tea etc. I put it on my steaks when I grill. it's outstanding; just a hint of fresh difference." While Jack hasn't created any recipes with True Lemon®, he uses it on absolutely everything. "Actually being Italian, I watched my dad cook all my life. He could make a saltine cracker taste like a gourmet meal, so I experiment. I use True Lemon® over salad, with olive oil, garlic, in shrimp scampi, marinades, etc. I'm a true believer in True Lemon®."
Jack is a songwriter, and with all of the positive response he had gotten from his friends about True Lemon®, and the way he felt about it as well; Jack was inspired and started kicking around an idea for a for True Lemon® jingle. "I called Grand Brands and joked that they needed a True Lemon® commercial. So I came up with a concept and collaborated with a professional songwriter friend of mine (Peter Andreoli) who has a list of credits to his name, and with some help from a musician friend of his (Rick Belair) we came up with a demo. We feel it may be the catalyst, to a jumping off start on a national basis. I told David Schleider (president and founder of True Lemon®) that a good jingle is worth a hundred hit records; the hook that hangs in your ear, associates with the product, and before long you are singing it.
Jack has loved music since he was a child. "I was singing when I was six years old in grammar school; kind of a star performer, so to say. I've written songs and played in various bands since then." Jack started writing jingles in 1975. "I did some local work at first, i.e. restaurants and a car dealership. In 1993, I recorded with the Videls, a Providence , RI group from the 1960s who later became The Tradewinds and also the Innocence."
"Peter Andreoli, who goes by the stage name of Peter Anders, was part of the songwriting duo of Anders and Poncia and they wrote songs for The Ronettes and Phil Spector. I've been a friend of his since 1988. He was a mentor of mine growing up and I followed his career; then we became friends. He is who I wrote the True Lemon® jingle with. Writing jingles is a passion of mine, especially when I like the product and it tickles me."
Jack is 58 years old, and a civil engineer by trade. He has a 26-year-old-son, Jacen, who graduated from Johnson and Wales University .
Jack had one statement he wanted to end his profile with. "True Lemon®: BIG lemon taste, in a SMALL convenient packet!!!!"
