Being sneaky can be a good thing especially when it comes to drinking enough water. There are plenty of reasons why it’s important to make sure you’re meeting your minimum daily water requirements, but how to fit it all in? If you aren’t used to drinking a lot of water, tipping back even the minimum amount can seem like a big task.

Luckily, you can get water in many other ways than just refilling your Nalgene. We have some tips for fitting in more water that are so sneaky, you may not even notice the change until you realize you’re looking and feeling more amazing than ever!

8 Sneaky Ways to Drink More Water

  1. Water Out / Water In.
Make a rule that every time you use the bathroom you drink 8-10 ounces of water afterwards. Think of it as a way of immediately replenishing the fluids you just lost.
  2. Watery foods.
Munch on fruits and vegetables that contain a lot of water such as tomatoes, watermelon, berries, cucumbers, zucchini, carrots, celery, etc. Eating a wide array of colorful whole foods goes even farther than nutrition, as they are also packed full of water.
  3. Wakey wakey!
Upon waking each morning, fill a glass of water and drink it down. It will wake up your system and start your day off with one glass already finished!
  4. Keep it in eyesight.
Invest in a high-quality water bottle that you can refill over and over. Keep it on your desk, or out where you will see it. Take a picture of the bottle and use it as a background on your phone as a reminder to keep sipping.
  5. Tea is the tops!
Coffee is a diuretic, which means you’ll actually expel more water after consuming. Try replacing one cup of coffee a day (or 3 cups per week) with green or herbal tea.
  6. Before every meal.
Before you start eating take a few big swigs of water. Drink a full glass if you can!
  7. Skip the ice.
Many people have difficulty drinking water when it’s too cold. Our bodies are 98.6 degrees, so that frigid water can cause a shock to the system. It is easier to drink tepid or room temperature water so when you’re out, request no ice.
  8. Make it delectable.
By adding True Citrus products and/or fresh herbs you can make a glass of water something you’ll actually crave.

There are so many ways you can easily increase your water intake to live a happier and healthier life. Wonder if drinking all this water is all it’s chalked up to be? We straighten out the myths from the facts in this article.
