Butter Cookies

butter cookies with True Lemon and powdered sugar

Simple cookies you will be sure to love! Perfectly buttery and a little crumbly, these are delicious when served with afternoon tea. Recipe submitted by Bernadette Cirigliano.


1 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons True Lemon 

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cream butter, sugar, and egg until fluffy. Add vanilla. Mix flour, baking powder, and True Lemon together and stir into creamed mixture.
  3. Fill cookie press with mixture, and form cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned at edges. Remove from cookie sheet and let cool on racks.
