Citrus Steaks with Special Rub

This tangy rub will make your grilled steaks a family favorite.


6 to 10 oz. sirloin steak (or your favorite cut)
3 packets True Lemon or True Lime
1 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika
1/4 teaspoon dark brown sugar

1 stick of butter
1/2 tablespoon of the rub

  1. First prepare the rub: thoroughly mix all dry ingredients in a shaker bottle (store unused rub in an airtight container).
  2. Generously coat steaks with rub and let stand for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Grill steaks to preference and serve.
  4. For the sauce, melt the stick of butter and blend in 1/2 tablespoon of the rub.

This recipe is also good on chops, chicken, or hearty fish like salmon. Real fans of spice may add 1/8 teaspoon jalapeno powder or chipotle powder.
