Minted Too-Good-to-be-True Citrus Summer Berry Granita

Summer strawberry and berry granita dessert

Dig in! This lightweight summer dessert is full of wonderful and refreshing flavors. Recipe submitted by Susan Scarborough.


4 cups water, warmed
8 packets True Lemon
8 packets True Lime
3/4 – 1 cup sugar (or other natural sweetener, like honey)
3 tablespoons chopped mint leaves
2/3 cup fresh blueberries
2/3 cup fresh raspberries

  1. Mix True Lemon, True Lime, water, and sugar in a pitcher. Stir until dissolved.
  2. Pour mixture into a shallow casserole dish with mint and blueberries, mashing blueberries some with back of a spoon.
  3. Freeze for one hour, then remove and stir in the raspberries. Freeze again for at least 30 minutes, until ready to serve.
  4. Scrape into serving glasses, and garnish with fresh mint leaves.

For a fun presentation: rim the edge of a serving glass with sugar first! For the adults you can also add a drizzle of Lemoncello liqueur on top before serving.
