A simple marinade that will make for a delicious steak dinner. Serve with a fresh crunchy side salad, or steamed vegetables with rice. Recipe adapted from Bon Appetit.
4 10- to 12-ounce flank steaks (trim off any extra fat)
4 teaspoons powdered adobo seasoning (find at Latin markets, or in the ethnic foods section of the grocery store)
16 packets True Orange
8 packets True Lemon
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
Salt & pepper
4 tablespoons canola oil, divided
- Sprinkle steaks with adobo seasoning, and place in a single layer in 13x9x2-inch glass baking dish.
- Mix True Orange, True Lemon, water, and vinegar in a bowl then pour over the steaks. Let marinate at room temperature for 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Remove steaks from marinade and season with salt & pepper. Cook in skillet until desired doneness (about 6-minutes per side for medium-rare).
