Do you want a tip for something simple you can do everyday that has the potential to greatly improve your health? Drink more tea!
We've mentioned it before, but drinking a cup or more of tea each day can make a huge difference in overall well being. From improving skin to aiding in digestion, to weight management and mental balance, including tea into any health regimen has been shown to have a number of benefits.
Tea acts as a natural way to:
In a collection of studies, the risk of depression decreased by 37% for every three cups of tea that study participants drank each day.
Support the liver
In a large research study of over 800,000 participants, those that drank tea were less likely to have chronic liver disease or cirrhosis.
Reduce the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes
With drinking just two more cups of tea each day, the risk dropped by 4.6%.
Reduce the risk of stroke and heart disease
Drinking an additional three cups of tea each day was linked to reducing these risks significantly throughout research studies.
Although these findings are significant, this doesn't mean that by pounding back cup after cup of tea each day you'll be miraculously healed of all ailments. Many of these studies were conducted in Asian countries where tea drinking is a more prevalent way of life, and therefore its difficult to understand the effects on a western lifestyle or diet.
So can drinking more tea be beneficial?
Absolutely! As the research shows, the list of positive effects seem to go on and on. Even though our culture has different habits with diet and lifestyle, the benefits overall are still pretty remarkable.
As always be sure you aren't drinking tea with a lot of added sugar, as that will do more damage than good. Sip on a hot cup of green tea with True Lemon instead for a mellow but satisfying flavor!
